The holiday season is upon us, and another year has passed.  Where has the time gone?  Hopefully the winter will pass just as quickly and spring will be upon us.  I\we wish everyone a happy holiday season and a safe and happy new year.

The snowstorm of several inches or more that we’ve had over the last day or so is very pretty, but restricts me from getting out to do the things that I need to do.  All I can keep thinking about is springtime .

This weekend, Anthony and I will be visiting Siena College for a dinner and Anthony will be staying overnight into Monday.  Ashley’s 16th birthday is coming up in few weeks, and she is still unsure what she wants to do.  It’s hard to believe, really hard to believe that my son will be going off to college and my daughter will be turning 16.  When my parents like all due, said Time flies the older you get, they were not kidding.

To sum it up, I need to be thankful that my staffing is working out for the time being, my children are safe and healthy, my health considering my situation is good, my mom, dad, brothers and sisters as well as my extended family and friends seem to be doing well.  I am very grateful, if it was not for all of them,  I might not be home, enjoying life to the fullest.

As far as research goes, things are moving slowly in soe areas, and quickly in others.  Funding seems to be moving forward, research seems to moving slowly but I along with everyone needs to realize that this is a very complicated issue and need to realize that our great researchers are doing all they can.  Until that day comes, I will, and I encourage others in the same \ similar situation to do your best and hold on.

As of late, things seem to be working out okay with employees.  The agency that I work with has sent me a couple of people that seem to be working out thus far, let’s keep our fingers crossed.  This has taken a lot of stress off of me and another employee, I have, who has been picking up most of all the hours.

Sorry I haven’t written in my journal in the last few days, things have been a little busy.  I am going to do my best to write every so often.  Let’s make this year the best so far, I have a few more changes that I am going to be making to my website so keep visiting to see my updates.

Besides being short staffed, next week during winter vacation, my most reliable and dependable employee who rate now is covering most of my hours because I’m short staffed will be going away for four days.  My nurse and therapist who know how to put me in my wheelchair as well are also going away on vacation during that week.  My sister, who helps me out from time to time is leaving for South Carolina during this time.  So here I am stuck with staffing that I am totally uncomfortable with, hopefully, the staffing that the agency sends me will be capable to provide me with the services that I need.  I am most concerned with my physical care.

A few weeks ago, as many of you are already know an employee who had been working for me for about five months stole one of my credit cards, withdrawing more than several hundred dollars.  She was arrested, but these are the kind of things that add to my stress.

A friend told me once, for better or for worse, things will always work out.  I hope so that’s all for now, goodnight.
